Alex brings a unique blend of adventure and expertise to his training approach, shaped by both his Midwest roots and global fitness experiences. His journey began at Park City Senior Center, where he discovered his passion for transformative fitness while leading group classes during his Exercise Science studies. This early experience laid the foundation for his specialized understanding of mobility and strength training across all age groups.

After college, Alex's pursuit of fitness knowledge took him across the world - from the challenging terrains of Alaska to the holistic training approaches in Thailand, and through the diverse fitness scenes of California and Colorado. These experiences didn't just build his expertise; they shaped his adaptable training style that now benefits ActivU's clients.

Upon returning to Kansas, Alex collaborated with his former college advisor to expand a fitness facility focused on age-related training, where he mastered the delicate balance of pushing boundaries while ensuring safety and proper form. His work with military personnel, retirees, and athletes has given him a unique perspective on how to customize training approaches for different goals and abilities.

What sets Alex apart is his strategic approach to personal transformation. Whether he's helping a client improve their golf swing, prepare for their first 5K, or simply gain the confidence to start their fitness journey, he brings the perfect blend of challenge and support. His training style is particularly effective in ActivU's mobile training format, where he creates dynamic workouts that can be adapted to any environment - from home gyms to outdoor spaces.

My Story

Growing up in the Midwest, my fitness journey began differently than most trainers. While many might point to competitive sports or body transformation, my passion for fitness was ignited by something else entirely: pure exploration.

As a former point guard turned post player in high school, I learned early on that adaptation and strategy were just as important as physical strength. This mindset followed me through college, where I earned my BA in Exercise Science in 2016. During my studies, I discovered my true calling while leading group classes at the Park City Senior Center. There was something powerful about helping others discover their own strength and mobility that resonated deeply with me.

But I knew I needed more. After college, I made a bold decision that would shape my entire approach to fitness – I spent five years traveling the world, living and training in places as diverse as the rugged landscapes of Alaska, the spiritual training grounds of Thailand, the innovative fitness scenes of California, and the challenging terrains of Colorado. Each location taught me something unique about human movement, resilience, and the countless ways to approach physical wellness.

One of my proudest moments came from working with an Air Force service member – a mother of five who, despite long working hours and family commitments, showed up with unwavering positivity. Her dedication taught me that with the right support and approach, any goal is achievable. This experience, among many others, shaped my belief that fitness should be about making life exciting and breaking through perceived limitations.

Today, as part of the ActivU team, I bring this global perspective and adventure-minded approach to each client's doorstep. Whether I'm helping a client improve their mobility, training them for a multi-sport event, or simply building their confidence, my goal remains the same: to spark that same sense of exploration and possibility that drove my own journey.
